Pros:
This mumumumumulti-theme pack includes 24 theme files!
Uh, did someone say "Just One"? OK, so that's the title of the CD that
was used for the music and the featured artist in these 1, 2, 3,... 24
theme files. As the author states, "This theme is jam-packed with stuff,
so there's quite a bit to go through." It goes on to explain the reason
for the number of theme files. Don't go thinking you are getting 24
completely different themes here. Sorry, but that's just not possible in
an 8MB file size (yet). On the other hand, you do get separate theme
files to associate two... yes, two different themes in 640x480, 800x600
or 1024x768 display sizes of your choice for Windows XP as well as older
Plus! compatible versions of Windows. With all that said, other theme
parts include 20 high quality sound files, 5 desktop icons, and 14 new
cursors.
Cons:
The author has included individual theme files for older versions of
Windows but since this theme is primarily intended for Windows XP, you
won't find any system logo screens or web view images in here. Also note
that true color icons and cursors will not appear with correct
transparency settings on Windows NT systems so those could be a little
ugly for NT users. A "Thumbs.db" file is included for no apparent
reason. Oh, and the screen saver says "shareware version distribution
forbidden". Ouch! A little sound compression would also be nice. This
file size is a killer.
Overall:
If you're an Eliza fan and don't have any problem with the
discrepancies, check it out. A few tweaks would make it perfect for
everyone but as it is, there's still a lot of good stuff here.
